Irina graduated from the State Choreography School in Sofia with a major in Bulgarian Ethnical Dances and later on from the National Academy of Arts in Plovdiv with a major Choreography and Art Direction. For 23 years, Irina danced for the Professional Ensemble for Ethnic Dances “Sliven”. In the US, Irina, together with her husband Todor Gotchev, founds the Bulgarian dance ensemble “Horo” in 2003.The ensemble is well known around the Bulgarian community. Irina is the main art director and choreographer for the ensemble. Since 2009 Irina is a choreographer at the newly found ensemble "Hortze" for young dancers as well. |
